Hi there I’m John Dykes. Welcome to the Premier League Video Guide to Liverpool football club. Here we’ll take you behind the scenes at Anfield, we’ll also give you an insight into the match day experience plus other things to see and do in and around the club.
Steeped in history, Liverpool football club is rightly regarded as one of football’s most iconic and successful clubs. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the club’s museum where memories have been kept alive for all Reds fans. Liverpool boast an impressive 40 major trophies since the club was founded in 1892. Under Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley they became the dominant force in England throughout the 1970s and 80s. You simply must book a visit to the museum, before the big kick off.
Located in the northwest of England, the River Mersey runs through the heart of Liverpool. Take a trip on one of the ferries across the Mersey and see such sights as the royal Liver building and the Albert Dock. The 1960s witnessed Liverpool’s most famous sons’ meteoric rise to fame. The Beatles museum in Liverpool is a must for all fab four fans. Their faces adorn the front of the football club shop in the recently developed mall, Liverpool One.
Next to the famous Shankly gates at Anfield stands the Liverpool Memorial, a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster of 1989.
Lime Street Station is situated in the heart of Liverpool and is just 2 miles from Anfield where your match day experience begins.

Underneath the famous Kop stand you’ll be able to purchase a range of merchandise and when you step outside, have your picture taken, next to Bill Shankly. But it’s inside where the Anfield experience really comes to life along with 45,000 fellow supporters. Once there, you too can sing along to their famous anthem: ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, before watching Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League.
