Chelsea are Champions
Chelsea are Champions
It's party time at Stamford Bridge! On Sunday the 2nd of May, Chelsea won their fourth Premier League title. The Blues beat Crystal Palace 1-0 to win the title with three matches still to play. After the latest round of matches, Chelsea are 13 points ahead of Arsenal, who with four matches left to play can't now catch their London rivals. It's Chelsea's first Premier League trophy since 2009/10. Let's take a look at the Champions and how they won the title.
How did Chelsea win the title?
There is no doubt that Chelsea deserved to win the title, they've won the most matches, lost the fewest matches, conceded the fewest goals and have the best goal difference. With Eden Hazard, recently crowned the PFA Player of the Year, on the pitch, Chelsea also have a truly world class player. Against Crystal Palace, it was no surprise that Hazard scored the goal to give Chelsea the title but it was a surprise how it happened. Hazard was tripped in the penalty area by a Palace defender and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Hazard took the penalty, but probably hit the worst penalty of his career, and it was saved by the Palace goalkeeper. But it didn't matter because Hazard reacted first to the rebound and headed the ball into the net!
"I'm so happy to win another Premier League title in my second spell at the club. I will try for another one." Jose Mourinho, Chelsea manager.
Which players were important for Chelsea this season?
Chelsea have had a fantastic season and the Chelsea team and squad have been the strongest in the Premier League this year. Six Chelsea players were named in the PFA team of the season, which reflects their dominance in the Premier League during 2014/15, but Mourinho has said the PFA team should have been eleven Chelsea players. It is difficult not to agree with him. Let's take a look at some of Chelsea's star performers this season.
John Terry
This is Premier League title number four for John Terry and his 16th major trophy with Chelsea. Terry is Chelsea's captain and has played every minute of the Premier League season, an amazing achievement for a player that many thought was coming to the end of his career. Terry is now the joint-highest scoring defender in the Premier League (38 goals). Chelsea's defence is built around Terry who is now seen as one of, if not the best, defenders in Premier League history.
"Unbelievable! We’ve worked so hard to get the title. I’ve been ballboy here, I’ve been mascot, I’ve painted the stadium.” John Terry, talking after winning his fourth Premier League title.
Nemanja Matic
Matic's return to Chelsea has been one of the most important changes to the Chelsea team in recent seasons. Originally bought by Chelsea in 2009, Matic only made two Premier League appearances before he was sold to Benfica in Portugal in 2011. But Mourinho decided to buy Matic again last summer and Matic has had a great impact on the team. The defensive midfielder is not a player who will take the headlines by scoring a hat-trick or dribbling past five or six players, but the support he gives to the Chelsea defence by breaking up play with tackles and interceptions is crucial to Jose Mourinho's team.
"It's special to me. I can't believe it - I thought it was a dream. This is why we play football." Nemanja Matic.
Costa was another major Mourinho signing last summer and Costa took to the Premier League like a duck to water. Costa scored an amazing seven goals in his first four Premier League matches and was the striker Chelsea have been missing for the last few seasons. Costa, despite some injury worries in the second half of the season, has scored 19 Premier League goals and was named in the PFA team of the season. Costa has played a big part in Chelsea's success this season and a fully fit Costa will play a big part in Chelsea's title defence next seaon, too.
"Of course it's nice to be the topscorer but when I came here my aim was to win the league." Diego Costa.
Cesc Fabregas
Cesc Fabregas's move to Chelsea was a controversial one. He arrived from Barcelona, but before that he had played over 200 times and spent eight years with London rivals - Arsenal. Fabreags never won a title with Arsenal but has won one in his firt season at Chelsea. Chelsea fans have welcomed him too, especially after some sensational performances in the first half of the season. Fabregas has made 17 assists this season, which is the most in the Premier League and an amazing 7 more than Angel Di Maria (Manchester Utd) and Gylfi Sigurrdsson (Swansea City) who have the second most assists this season. Jose Mourinho was amazed that Fabregas wasn't named in the PFA team of the season.
"Hopefully it will be the start of a new era, a new team. Hopefully the new players now feel this winning mentality can go on for a long time." Cesc Fabregas.
Hazard has scored 14 goals and made 8 assists this season and has been Chelsea's best creative talent for the whole season. Other players such as Alexis Sanchez, Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney have played well in parts this season, but Hazard has been in great form from August to May. He has been named PFA Player of the Year and has also been named Chelsea's Player of the Year. Hazard is now often mentioned, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as one of the best players in the world.
"We deserve to be Champions and everyone at Chelsea is very happy today." Eden Hazard.
How important is the special one?
Many people see Chelsea's title win as a victory for Chelsea manager - Jose Mourinho. He has won a third Premier League title with Chelsea and has led Chelsea to their first Premier League title for five years. Mourinho bought very well last summer, bringing Costa, Fabregas and Matic to the club and in the first half of the season Chelsea played some fantastic football. In the second half of the season, Chelsea were a little more defensive but carried on winning and have won the Premier League by a big points difference. Mourinho is second behind Alex Ferguson in terms of Premier League trophies, but the Chelsea manager is the most successful manager in Premier League history in terms of percentage of wins.
Manager | Club | Win | Draw | Lose | Number of games |
Jose Mourinho | 147 | 44 | 25 | 216
Sir Alex Ferguson | 528 | 168 | 114 | 810
Manuel Pelligrini | 60 | 15 | 18 | 93
Carlo Ancelotti | 48 | 13 | 15 | 76 |

cheslea were the best team this season but the current season they are the worst , they have the best manager in the football history , I doubt in they have the best player , because comparing them to other players in the Europe like Spanish players or Italian they aren't the best .
I have a question I lost the topic which explain the coalition words by really and very , adjectives words which don't come with really or very , is it fine to ally them to really .?

Chelsea was team with the best consistency but I am not shore that Chelsea plays the best football in England. Mourinho is very good manager because he can set optimal tactics for every team which plays against Chelsea. The Blues plays from very good defence (Courtois, Terry, Cahill, Matic) and they can attack from very fast counterattack (Hazard, Willian, Costa). And Mourinho has perfect players for this tactics.

In my opinion Chelsea was the best squad this season in premier league. Every players make really good them work. However i would like Juan Cuadrado would play more games in premier league. I hope next season, Juan can adapt to the squad and make the difference like make Edez Hazard, the best Chelsea's player forward.
