What does "dispossess" mean in football?

55 min: Kongolo dispossesses Adama Traore with an excellent tackle as the big man turned and threatened to sprint into space towards the Fulham penalty area.

Hi Jembot,

In football, to dispossess means to take the ball away from a player by tackling them. When a player has the ball they have possession of the ball. The opposition then attempts to dispossess that player.

Hope that helps,

Rich - The Premier Skills English Team

1. My football heroes are David Beckham & Marcus Rashford

2. Yes , in the Final of Europa League this year and sadly we lost to Villarreal

3. The Final of the Europa League because everyone was expecting United to win and we were beaten by the Spanish yellow submarines team

4. I trust few goalies in terms of saving penalties but if I have to choose the best out of them , I would pick Edwin Van Der Sar

5. Leonardo Bonucci equalized for Italy in the Euro 2020 Final

6. Argentina won Copa America as their hero Emilliano Martinez gifted the first international cup to the GOAT Leo Messi in a dramatic penalty shootout as well

• Nothing avail to motivate a lazy person .
• Heartache is the issue of unrequited love during teenage times-:)
P.S.
There were two point to be considered; after an early goal England team started to play in their zone more defensively. As usual Italy team were seemed to be recharged at the second half and took control of the game by making more pass.
