Josep 'Pep' Guardiola, had lots of success managing Bayern Munich in Germany and Barcelona in Spain before he moved to Manchester City in 2016. Three to Watch
Here are three Manchester City players to keep an eye on in the Premier League this season:
City’s biggest summer transfer was Riyad Mahrez’s £60 million move from Leicester City. The Algerian winger arrives as a Premier League winner with Leicester and will add skill and pace to either side of the pitch. Ia Mahrez can perform in the same way as he did for Leicester in their Premier League winning campaign, City have another match-winner in the team.
Sterling is another winger who is great to watch. Sterling is fast and skilful with an eye for goal. He was voted PFA Young Player of the Year last season and at 22 years old has his best years in front of him. Sterling scored a career-high 31 goals last season.
Kevin De Bruyne
De Bruyne was many people’s Player of the Season in 2017/18 as he helped City cruise to the title. The midfielder’s ability to unlock a defence is second to none and he also can hit a wonderful free--kick. De Bruyne set up 17 Premier League goals last season, more than any Premier League player.
The era of Manchester CIty
Manchester City won the Premier League last season for the second time in a row and have broken many Premier League records along the way. Some of the records they have broken include: most points, most goals, most wins, most consecutive wins, most points ahead of second place and best goal difference. Manchester City’s top scorer was Sergio Aguero with 21 Premier League goals, who has now won the Premier League four times with City.
