1) Why do you learn English?

2) Do you find learning English difficult/fun/ boring/terrifying etc.?

3) Do you like speaking English?

4) Do you like football?

5) Do you like Premier League Clubs?

 Developing skills (listening and speaking)

 Play the video Why is it important to learn English? to your students. While they are watching it,write the following words on the blackboard:

offence defence kick penalty foul coach pass shot corner offside extra time.

When the interview is finished,ask your students the following:

1) to list the reasons why English is important for the players;

2) to identify the players and the clubs they play for (induce them to use the words written on the blackboard);

3) to name one Montenegrin playing in the League.

Practising grammar points

Ask students who are wearing jerseys to imagine they will be professional football players. Tell them to talk about their future career in a Premier League Club using will (for future) and be going to (for intention) and state why they need to know English. Provide examples to avoid ambiguity:

I will play for Manchester United one day.

I am going to win all the matches to get there.

I am going to pass the ball to other players and be a team player.

I will try not to foul anybody.

I will listen to my coach.

I am going to learn English because...

 Emphasize that they should use the presented vocabulary.
