Hull City AFC
Hull City Association Football Club play their home games at the KCOM Stadium in Kingston upon Hull in Yorkshire, England. Yorkshire is in the North East of England. Hull City AFC was founded in 1904 and joined the Football League in the 1905-06 season, and played alongside Manchester United and Chelsea in their first ever season.

When Hull City AFC are playing at home, they wear amber and black. Their shirt usually has a striped design which is where the club nickname, the Tigers, comes from. The club has a tiger on its badge and the club mascot is a tiger called Roary the Tiger.
For many years, Hull City AFC played their home matches at Boothferry Park. In 2002, the club moved to their new home, the KC Stadium, which was named the “Best Ground” at the 2006 Football League Awards. The KC Stadium can seat 25,400 fans and there are plans to increase the capacity to 30,000.
How successful have Hull City been in the past?
Hull City AFC have not always been very successful. Throughout most of their history, they have played in the second and third divisions of English football. Their lowest position in the history of the club came in the mid-nineties. In November 1998, the club was at the bottom of the table in the fourth division of English football and the fans were afraid the Tigers would be relegated and lose their place in the league. The club appointed Warren Joyce as manager and he managed to lead the team back up the table and avoid relegation.
When did Hull City's revival begin?
Hull City AFC finished the 2001-02 season in 11th place in League Two, the fourth division of English football. The following season was difficult as the club moved to its new home at the KC Stadium in the middle of the season. Once the club settled into their new home, their performance improved dramatically. At the end of the 2003-04 season, Hull City were promoted to League One. They were promoted again at the end of the 2004-05 season into the Championship, the second tier of English football. On the 24th May 2008, Hull native, Dean Windass, scored the winning goal against Bristol City in the play-offs. This goal won Hull City a place in the highest division in English football, the Premier League. It was the first time Hull City had played at the top level of English football.

What have Hull City achieved recently?
Hull were relegated at the end of the 2009-10 season. In June 2012, they appointed Steve Bruce as manager and by May the following year, they returned to the Premier League. After two seasons in the Premier League and their first FA Cup Final, Hull were relegated again. But, in 2015/16, Hull City were promoted back to the Premier League after just one season away. The team beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium in, what some people call, 'the richest match in football.'
What players have Hull got?
Hull’s top scorer last season was Uruguayan international Abel Hernandez with 22 goals. Senegalese international, Mohamed Diame, got the winner at Wembley, and it will be he and Hernandez who Hull look to for goals next season. Hull have many other players with Premier League experience, including, the Egyptian international Ahmed Elmohamady. After two changes of manager in 2016/17, Hul's current manager is the Portuguese, Marco Silva. Hull fans will be hoping to finish in the top half of the table this season, but it might be a battle for survival for the Tigers.
